How to Install the Weather Tight Self-Adhesive Vent Properly and How to Prevent Leaking

Venting your shrink wrapped object is a simple and easy way to allow airflow under your shrink wrap cover. It reduces moisture buildup without compromising the covers integrity.
The main problem with vents is not having an adequate seal between the vent and the shrink wrap.
TRICK – To install our Weather Tight Self-Adhesive Vent properly and how to prevent from leaking, you just have to follow these simple steps:
1.) Take off the adhesive backing and stick onto the cover.
2.) Pop the cover off of the vent, then cut and remove the shrink wrap from the exposed window.
3.) Grab inside the vent and press firmly around all edges to make sure the vent fully adheres to the shrink wrap. It has a raised lip so it does not allow any leaking into the opening. If there is any gaps between the vent and the shrink wrap, that’s where the leaking will occur.
4.) Pop the top back on and you’re good to go.

Dr. Shrink’s New Dock Box Vent (DS683W-DB) is a Weather-Tight Self-Adhesive Vent with screen that is perfect for use on a dock box, storage bin or locker. It allows air flow to protect against moisture, mold, mildew and musty smells. It also has a screen that prevents bugs and pests from entering the enclosure. We recommend buying and installing two vents for cross-flow ventilation.

DR. SHRINK’S PARTICIPATION IN LOCAL RELAY FOR LIFE

The Dr. Shrink, Inc. Shrink Walkers took part in the local Relay for Life here in Manistee this past weekend. It was a beautiful weekend full of sun, fun and walking for a great cause.

To keep track of just how many miles each participant walked, necklaces were available for purchase and for every lap, participants received one bead. Every 7 beads was the equivalent of one mile. Once walkers hit 5 miles, 10 miles and 20 miles, they had the option to sign a board to show how many people have walked that far. There were special laps to recognize local police departments and fire departments as well as a lap to honor all of the survivors.
Dr. Shrink had a Bra Pong board (shrink wrapped in our new PINK shrink wrap, of course) to recognize Breast Cancer Awareness where kids and adults could stand at a line and toss ping pong balls into the bra cups for different points to get a prize. Dr. Shrink also sold homemade packets and jars of Taco Seasoning, Steak Seasoning, Rotisserie Chicken Rub and a Ranch Seasoning. The event was a great success and several members of the Dr. Shrink team participated in the event– Mike Stenberg reached the most miles walked on our team at a completion of 20 miles!

Need a reinforced, non-tearing material? Try our DuraSkrim®

DuraSkrim® Reinforced Film

Dura-Skrim® is an ultra heavy-duty wrap designed for projects that need a strong, non-tearing material. Dura-Skrim® is reinforced and ridged with a diamond pattern. The reinforced material has an unyielding design that provides heavy-duty protection. It is available in either white Flame Retardant or clear Non-Flame Retardant.
Dura-Skrim® consists of two sheets of high-strength virgin film laminated together with a third layer of molten polyethylene (the molten layer of polyethylene renders it unshrinkable – as such, it resists heat and is resilient in a way shrink wrap is not). A heavy-duty scrim reinforcement placed between these piles greatly enhances tear resistance and increases service life.
*Can be seamed or heat welded together with a propane fired heat tool*
DuraSkrim® 2 (non-flame retardant, 6-mil) is used for temporary applications that require a lightweight yet highly tear-resistant film such as building enclosures and abatement applications.

Shrinkfast 998 Heat Tool

The Ripack 3000 comes in a complete kit with these safety features built into it:
• The stainless steel combustion nozzle remains cold even during intensive use
• The design of the aluminum body forbids any obstruction of the diverse air inlets and the pressure regulator (SECURIPACK) has a double secutiry
• The Ripack’s components are systematically protected from shocks, heat and/or tearing
