Unlike traditional steel and aluminum cylinders, Viking Cylinders® are designed not to BLEVE in a fire. BLEVE stands for Boiling Liquid Expanding Vapor Explosion.
In simple terms, rather than exploding when exposed to fire, the cylinder is designed to allow the resin to burn off and the plastic liner/casing to melt, allowing the LPG to escape through the cylinder wall and burn in a controlled manner.
