June Notes from Mike.

Hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend. It has been slowly but surely warming up in Manistee and is starting to feel like summer.

Please don’t forget, if you’re located in Michigan, our Recycling Run participants will all be contacted for their EZ-Fill bag pickups shortly, if you haven’t already. The deadline to submit your Recycling Run registration form is TODAY! We greatly appreciate your effort in making sure your shrink wrap covers are properly recycled. Check out the section below on how to properly remove your cover.

We have seen some incredible shrink wrap jobs being completed lately. Check out two customer spotlights below- one of them fully-encapsulating a 223 foot superyacht in Australia and the other creating their own custom DIY greenhouse in Canada. Please keep sending photos as to what you are up to and what you are wrapping– our customers continue to amaze us!

DIY Greenhouse with Shrink Wrap

A great customer of ours in Canada sent in these photos of a recent project he completed– a greenhouse in his backyard in Chilliwack, British Columbia.

Details of this greenhouse project: Several large pallets were used for this project and were put in a line to create the 20’ x 10’ layout. Some grass blocking black landscaping sheets were rolled out and the pallets went on top.

A metal frame was used (which is typically used as a car shelter) and was secured to the pallets. Dr. Shrink’s 40’ x 100’ 7-mil clear shrink wrap was pulled over the structure.

Once the material was pulled over the structure, 3/8″ thick plywood strips were used to roll the shrink wrap up a few times and then secured, so the shrink wrap could be shrunk down with a secure attachment to the pallets.

A large Dr. Shrink 36″ x 72” Zipper Access Door will be installed at the end of the current opening. This style of greenhouse allows for an extended growing season with very positive results.

Shrink Wrap for Yacht Refinishing- Full Encapsulation On the Water!

Absolutely amazing and impressive shrink wrap work by Sweep Marine Service s, located in Australia! Shrink wrapped in the below photos is a 68m/223ft superyacht at the Gold Coast City Marina & Shipyard in spectacular Queensland, Australia. This yacht was a full on-water encapsulation and is ready to be repainted!
